About Transferring to us
Who can transfer?
Whatever your reason, you have the right to transfer to a local authority like us if you:
- Are an approved foster carer
- Are already registered with a fostering provider
- Feel our offer would be the right fit for you
How long does it take to transfer?
We offer a fast-track process that will help you to transfer to Peterborough, which typically takes between 8-11 weeks depending on your circumstances.
What does the transfer process involve?
We start by arranging a visit to meet you, discuss your situation, and outline the next steps involved. We will offer you a bespoke training package, competitive allowances, and guide you through the transfer process. Provided you’re happy to proceed, we will initiate your transfer.
As part of the transfer process we will complete an assessment report, although this is not another full Form F assessment, and we will need to obtain updated references and a new DBS check.
We will look at what training you may have already completed as an approved foster carer and agree with you further training is required as part of the transfer process.
