When you foster with us, you guarantee that all the investments of us as a local authority go to the benefit of the children, young people and foster families we care for rather than a private business. Our commitment to improving our service ensures that both you and the children you foster have the best possible experience.
Children first, always
Our top priority is ensuring that children and young people in Peterborough receive the care they need. When a child enters foster care, it's our job as the local authority to match them with the most suitable foster family. Whenever possible, we prioritise placing them with our in-house foster carers, to provide the best possible fit for both the child and the foster family while keeping them local to their home of Peterborough.
Local dedicated support
Our support network is local to Peterborough. You'll join a community of local foster carers of diverse ages, experiences, and backgrounds, and benefit from our local in-person support group and events as well as dedicated one-on-one support for each child you may care for. We'll point you in the right direction for any useful training whenever you need it too.
Generous Financial allowances
Fostering is just as much a rewarding career as it is a life choice. We provide our foster carers with generous financial allowances so they are supported to provide care for a child, or several children, whether that be on a short or long-term basis.
